At first glance

These roses

Seem beautiful

They lie on my bed

Enticing

Seducing

Hungry for eyes

To pick them apart

& undress them

But as you do

Your fingers are pricked

Red raw

Thorns

Blood

Starting to pour

on white bed sheets

Red roses

Blending with beauty
