Rushden Rhymes: 4 22 February 25

Rushden Rhymes 22/02/25

Guys… Wow.
What an amazing night full of such awesome, fun, talented people.
We kicked off the night with @kylecoare who gave a performance like I’ve never seen from him before (despite losing his voice later on) He owned the stage! Kyle has done so much for the poetry scene and it’s really awesome to call him a friend! He also gifted me the rest of his poetry books that I didn’t own yet so I’ve got some reading to do!!
We had some new people to the scene…
Joe, @wobbington and AB Wyze who were awesome!
They are all very very welcome back!
I particularly liked Joes gardening poem, Sam’s February poem and AB Wyze wrote about next doors cat!
We had some familiar faces @latchkiekidpoetry and @abbijinkspoet rejoined us and were also amazing!!! Abbi made some memories with her golden hat!
@wiltedblankets jumped in towards the end and surprised us with a performance! I think we can all agree that you should be so proud of yourself, you’re going to go far!!!
We had a nice visit from @scottacoe which is always a pleasure because of how great a performer he is! Always appreciate you!
And of course… @sammy_someantics So proud to know you and to have you featuring. You know how important this was to me and you’ve been a great mentor and friend. A lot of people really look up to you and your performance just proved how awesome you are… As a poet and a person! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! ❤️
@ninjabob0 also came to visit but unfortunately did not bring his decks so minus the 10 points but it was lovely to see you!!!
BBC Northampton visited and got some snippets to put on the radio at some point so that was fun!!!
Sally spent time drawing the performers at the back which was such a lovely surprise! I’ve seen her a lot this week and the space she’s created is super inspiring!!! So thank you for all of your hard work in the community! It doesn’t go unnoticed!
Most of us ended up at the pub afterwards and had such a laugh! Dinosaurs, poetry promoters, the MI6 and hot dogs!
A big thank you to everyone who has attended and supported Rushden Rhymes!
You’re all the reason why poetry is still alive!
I love you guys! See you all soon x
