 The lonely phone

Frayed cables causing a fire hazard

leading to a phone

but it's hardly a modern one

the memories hit home

dropping it on the bus

the battery sliding down the aisle

but this one is safe

tucked away yet waiting a while

Where is the owner

did they get lost during a toilet break

there is thousands of steps

all spoons are the same

The screen lights up

between the cracks 

it plays a little tune

the new phones lack

I bet it has that snake game

the one that we loved most

but where is the owner

Have they been taken

are they a ghost?

I'm surprised

It hasn't been stolen

We are in Rushden after all

but where is the owner

I hope they haven't had a fall

I see people around

noticing the same

but there is no one present

and no one here to blame

I needed to leave

about 15 minutes ago

but we are all on the edge of ou seats

please I'd like to see the owner

I'd really like to meet.

I look down at my own phone

A little less cool

I'll admit.

I miss my Nokia 100

that was the real deal that was sick

I check the table again

but it's emptier than before
