Awakening me from

A deep slumber...

You’d think it would

Be a cat 

Paws & sounds 

And jumping 

From the windowsill

To my back

But this rude awakening 

Doesn’t meow

Or nibble my hair

The brightness & the heat

Usually come as a pair

Oh, the light!

Her presence is made

I’m awake much earlier

Than I seemed to anticipate
